Sleuth

by Anthony Shaffer / Directed by Gavin Bromley

“Think of the perfect crime…then go one step further.”

Anthony Shaffer’s Sleuth is a razor‑sharp thriller that pits two men against each other in a deadly game of intellect, deception, and psychological warfare. The story follows Andrew Wyke, a wealthy and eccentric crime novelist, who invites Milo Tindle—his wife’s younger lover—to his country estate. What begins as a seemingly civil conversation quickly spirals into a series of elaborate mind games as each man tries to outwit the other.

The play unfolds through twists, reversals, and theatrical surprises, blurring the line between fiction and reality. At its core, Sleuth is a darkly playful exploration of rivalry, class tension, and the dangerous thrill of manipulation
