Suddenly Last Summer

by Tennessee Williams / Directed by Jen Alexander

There’s just two things to remember. She’s a destroyer. My son was a creator.”

The mysterious death of the poet Sebastian Venable threatens to tarnish his reputation. To protect the memory of her son, his mother seeks to silence the only witness by having her lobotomised. Catharine alone remembers the terrible events of the previous summer when something unspeakable occurred on the white beaches. Now, under the oppressive late-summer heat of New Orleans, a doctor listens as fact fights against fiction.

In this haunting drama, innocence, desire and cruelty intertwine, and the elegant garden, like a waiting Venus flytrap, threatens to swallow the truth whole.
